5 Mistakes Brides Make

 5 mistakes brides make

As someone who works with brides day in and day out, I have a pretty good grasp on what the morning of a wedding consists of. Here are some common mistakes I see brides make on the morning of, and how you can avoid them!

  1.  Micromanaging

You’ve been planning this for months it’s time to sit back and relax. The flowers will arrive, and it’s okay if your mom is talking to the photographer. Let your vendors do what they are hired to do, relinquish control to your planner, and remember to enjoy your day with your friends and family. This is a happy day, celebrating you! Pass off your phone to some you trust! This should be a no brainer, but you should not be doing any work or coordinating on your wedding day, even if you’ve given clear instructions for everything you will probably still get a call or text, so hand it off and trust that whoever has it will handle it

2.    Not Eating

Make sure to eat protein for breakfast! Fuel your body, because you’re going to want all the energy to make it all the way to your send-off. When I say fuel I mean with a lean protein, healthy carbs, fruits, and veggies. Protein will keep you energized and keep you from crashing on all that champagne and sweet treats while you get ready! If you need a quick breakfast blend up a protein smoothie with frozen fruits, greens, milk, and protein. Or an egg scramble with sauteed veggies and a side of yogurt. No matter how busy the morning gets, don't skip breakfast!  The day flies by, and with all the magical chaos going on around too many brides forget to eat!

3. Changing up your beauty routine

Stick to your normal beauty routine. The night before nor, the day of, is the time to try that new facemask you saw on instagram. Without knowing how your skin will react, I say skip the risk and stick to your normal routine. If your skin is sensitive, make sure to let your makeup artist know!

4. Not drinking enough water.

I won’t bore you with 8 cups of water blah blah you know! But staying hydrated will keep up your energy, and give your skin that gorgeous glow! Keep a water bottle handy, assign your Maid of Honor to check that it's full all day long!

5. Not getting enough sleep.

Most people will remind you to get good sleep the night before the wedding. But let's be real here, one good night's rest, isn’t enough to have you feeling your absolute best. Most of us take upto 2 days to recover from one night of poor sleep. So the goal is get 8 hours of sleep for 7 days. Easier said than done - I know I know! But if you are having trouble shutting off your brain, spritz some essential oils like lavender or chamomile on your pillow, or do some pre-sleep yoga. Save the no sleep for your honeymoon, and get some beauty rest now!

PRO TIP: For the over achiever, before you pop the champagne head to a local yoga studio for a quick sweat sesh! It’s a nice way to relieve any last-minute stress and releasing endorphins to have you looking and feeling great all day long! Try a gentle flow class to get a great stretch and get the blood moving. Leave the cardio-heavy style for another time.

feel your best, be fully present in every moment, and have the day you’ve always dreamed of!
